Mercer March Mart Plant Sale set for March 21
The Mercer March Mart Plant Sale, sponsored by Mercer Arboretum & Botanic Gardens, will be held Thursday through Saturday, March 21-23 at Mercer Arboretum and Botanic Gardens in Humble.
The event will run from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on Thursday and Saturday, and from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Friday.
According to a press release from Mercer Arboretum and Botanic Gardens, "March Mart began in 1974 as a fund-raiser for the then one-year-old arboretum. That sale consisted of donated plants that local garden club members dug from their gardens and delivered in old coffee cans or milk cartons. From those humble beginnings, March Mart now offers approximately 1,200 species of plants including annuals and perennials, ferns, fruit trees, gingers, herbs, natives, roses, shade plants, trees and shrubs, succulents, tropicals, vegetables, and vines." Vendors with bamboo, camellias, carnivorous plants and orchids will also be on the site.
Mercer Arboretum and Botanic Gardens is at 22306 Aldine Westfield Road, Humble.
