Aldi to hold hiring events in Houston

National discount grocer Aldi announced that it will hold hiring events for its new Houston area stores in March.

According to a press release from Aldi, these hiring events will be used to hire 200 employees for cashier and shift manager positions, in addition to the approximately 50 managerial positions already filled.

Available positions for cashiers will start at $11.50 per hour and include a benefits package, which includes major medical, dental and vision insurance, paid vacation, short- and long-term disability, retirement, 401K and company paid uniforms. Shift manager hires will start at $15.75 per hour.

Aldi is entering the Houston market with more than 30 new stores over the next two years. A total of 400 new jobs will open with an overall investment of $100 million in capital expenditures in the local community, according to the release.

Applicants may apply online by visiting www.alditexasjobs.com and by attending several hiring events.

Applicants must be 18 years or older, have a high school diploma or GED, be available between 6 a.m.-10 p.m., have some retail experience and be open to screening and background checks. Each applicant must be able to lift at least 45 pounds.

Hiring events will be from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 5 at the Aldi location at 2009 S. Mason Road, Katy; and the Hilton Pearland, 12101 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland.

On Wednesday, March 6, during the same hours, the events will be at the Humble Civic Center, at 7014 Will Clayton Parkway, Humble; and the Lone Star Convention Center, at 9055 Airport Road, Conroe.

On Tuesday, March 12, hiring events will be at the Aldi at 13340 Tomball Parkway, Houston; and the Humble Civic Center, at 7014 Will Clayton Parkway, Humble.

On Wednesday, March 13 events will be at the Aldi at 2009 S. Mason Road, Katy; and the Hilton Pearland, at 12101 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland.

On Tuesday, March 19 the events will be at Aldi at 13340 Tomball Parkway, Houston; and the Hilton Perland, 12101 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland.

One event will be Tuesday, March 26 at the Aldi at 13340 Tomball Parkway, Houston.

The final two public hiring events will take place Wednesday, March 27 in the Aldi at 2009 S. Mason Road, Katy; and the Hilton Pearland, at 12101 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland.

Aldi operates more than 1,200 stores in 32 states.
