Four Humble runners complete Piney Woods 20-Mile Trail Run

Four Humble athletes completed the Piney Woods 20-Mile Trail Run on Saturday, Feb. 9 in Houston.

The runners from Humble and their finishing times were Gretchen Cheney, 3:16:48; Shelly Burr, 3:17:09; Kirk Cheney, 3:20:22; and Rigo Contreras, 4:13:52.

Race organizers said 24 runners finished the 20-mile race, which began and ended at Lake Houston Park.

Robert Smith, of Nacogdoches, was the men's overall winner with a finishing time of 2:23:23, while Gretchen Cheney was the winner in the women's category.
