Gas prices in and around Lake Houston matched the average for Houston but were lower than the national average, according to data from the price-tracking website GasBuddy.com.

Visitors to the GasBuddy.com website reported rates at 49 gas stations in and around Lake Houston, as of Friday, Jan. 4. The average price of regular unleaded gas in Lake Houston is $3.16 per gallon. GasBuddy.com listed the Houston average at $3.16, the state average at $3.15 and the nationwide average at $3.27.

The least expensive gas in Lake Houston was reported to be $3.08 for a gallon of regular unleaded, which GasBuddy.com contributors logged at Conoco, 411 Isaack Road; Murphy USA, 6610 S. FM -1960 E.; and Kroger, 3820 Atascocita Road.

A GasBuddy.com user reported the most expensive gas in the area was $3.29 at Phillips 66, 15615 Eastex Freeway.
