Gas prices in and around Lake Houston were lower than the averages for Houston and the country as a whole, according to data from the price-tracking website gasbuddy.com.

Visitors to the gasbuddy.com website reported rates at 53 gas stations in and around Lake Houston as of Friday, Dec. 21. The average price of regular unleaded gas in Lake Houston is $3.01 per gallon. Gasbuddy.com listed the Houston average at $3.02, the state average at $3.03 and the nationwide average at $3.25.

The least expensive gas in Lake Houston was reported to be $2.93 for a gallon of regular unleaded, which gasbuddy.com contributors logged at H-E-B, 7405 FM -1960 E.

A gasbuddy.com user reported the most expensive gas in the area was $3.13 at Valero, 6886 Will Clayton Parkway.
