Where are the lowest gas prices in Lake Houston?
Gas prices in and around Lake Houston were higher than the average for Houston but lower than the national average, according to data from the price-tracking website gasbuddy.com.
Visitors to the gasbuddy.com website reported rates for 53 gas stations in and around Lake Houston.
As of Saturday, Dec. 8, the average price of regular unleaded gas in Lake Houston was $3.10 per gallon. Gasbuddy.com listed the Houston average at $3.09, the state average at $3.09 and the nationwide average at $3.36.
The least expensive gas in Lake Houston was reported to be $2.99 for a gallon of regular unleaded, which gasbuddy.com contributors logged at Get N Go Food Store and Washateria, 1111 S. Houston Ave., and Gas-N-More, 1st Street East.
A gasbuddy.com user reported the most expensive gas in the area to be $3.19 at Exxon, 7065 Will Clayton Parkway.
Other local stations included in the survey were Chevron, 607 S. Houston Ave.; Shell, 6355 Will Clayton Parkway; Valero, Rankin Road; Shell, 18040 US-59; Valero, 6886 Will Clayton Parkway; Shell, 1432 FM-1960, near 1st Street East; and Texaco, 19555 McKay Blvd.
GasBuddy.com, owned by GasBuddy Organization Inc., offers local gas pricing information to its visitors. The prices, based on the cost of regular unleaded gas, are submitted by the site's contributors. The site's stated mission is "to serve the public by providing a real time gas prices forum so that consumers can have access to the information necessary to locate the lowest fuel prices available."
