Where are the lowest gas prices in Lake Houston?

Gas prices in and around Lake Houston were lower than the average for Houston and the country as a whole, according to data from the price-tracking website gasbuddy.com.

Visitors to the gasbuddy.com website reported rates for 46 gas stations in and around Lake Houston.

As of Dec. 1, the average price of regular unleaded gas in Lake Houston was $3.10 per gallon. Gasbuddy.com listed the Houston average at $3.11, the state average at $3.13 and the nationwide average at $3.40.

The least expensive gas in Lake Houston was reported to be $2.94 for a gallon of regular unleaded, which gasbuddy.com contributors logged at Chevron, 3103 Wilson Road.

A gasbuddy.com user reported the most expensive gas in the area to be $3.19 at Valero, Rankin Road; Valero, 6886 Will Clayton Parkway; and Phillips 66, 15615 Eastex Freeway, near Beltway 8.

Other local stations in the survey included Exxon, 7065 Will Clayton Parkway; Shell, 18040 US-59; Chevron, 607 S. Houston Ave.; Texaco, 607 Wilson Road; Valero, 8900 Will Clayton Parkway; and Shell, 1245 Atascocita Road.

GasBuddy.com, owned by GasBuddy Organization Inc., offers local gas pricing information to its visitors. The prices, based on the cost of regular unleaded gas, are submitted by the site's contributors. The site's stated mission is "to serve the public by providing a real time gas prices forum so that consumers can have access to the information necessary to locate the lowest fuel prices available."
