Humble High School participating in holiday toy drive

Humble High School will start this week collecting toys for Humble Area Assistance Ministries and Heaven's Army of Resources to give to needy children this Christmas.

HAAM hopes to help more than 2,500 children in the Humble area school district this Christmas season and is asking for the public's assistance to reach this goal. Last year, Heaven's Army helped more than 350 children and is planning to at least double that amount this year.

Humble High School is in charge of collecting toys for children ages 14 to 18. Toys for those ages 14 to 16 are now being collected. Donation of toys and gifts are to be dropped off in office 4002 at the high school by the end of the day Monday, Nov. 26.

Appropriate gifts include games, jewelry, blankets, accessories such as scarves, purses, wallets and belts and sporting goods such as soccer balls, footballs and basketballs. Gift cards will also be accepted, however it is advised that gift cards should be for specific teen stores rather than Walmart, Target or Kmart.

Humble High School is located at 1700 Wilson Road, Humble.
