Lone Star College-Kingwood music faculty present 'Stellar Evening'
The Lone Star College-Kingwood music faculty will present "Stellar Evening" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 in the Music Instructional Building Recital Hall in Kingwood.
The 16th annual event will feature a 75-minute recital by faculty members in the new acoustically advanced recital hall, followed by a meet-and-greet dessert reception.
General admission is $25 per person, which includes the performance and dessert reception. Proceeds will raise money for the Fine Arts Scholarship at the school. Reservations are recommended due to limited seating.
"The city of Houston is an incredible arts city, and it is now filled with top-notch musicians from all over the world," said Todd Miller, music professor and chairman of the visual and performing arts department, in a press release. "We are fortunate to have a large and varied faculty teach in our new music facilities, and this night of music showcases that talent while raising money for our ever-increasing music student body."
The LSC-Kingwood Music Department has more than 20 faculty members who are working professional musicians in their disciplines. Several perform with such organizations as the Houston Grand Opera Orchestra and Chorus, Houston Symphony, Da Camera Society and top jazz venues in Houston.
The Music Instructional Building is located at 20000 Kingwood Drive, No. 168, in Kingwood.
