Stabbing in Humble leads to lawsuit
A man is suing after, he says, his girlfriend's former boyfriend allegedly stabbed him in her Humble-area home. Norman Escobar Jr. filed a lawsuit on Aug. 23 in Harris County District Court against Humble resident Jamy Gonzales, citing negligence. Escobar says on Sept. 2, 2010, Gonzales's former boyfriend stabbed him several times while he was a guest at her home, located in the 20000 block of Fox Trot Court in Humble. The suit alleges that even though the former boyfriend sent threatening text messages to Gonzales regarding Escobar, she failed to secure her home properly. The man then entered the home and stabbed Escobar as he lay in Gonzales's bed, according to the brief. Escobar is seeking damages and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Kerry Guidry. Harris County District Court Case No. 2012-48692. This is a report on a civil lawsuit filed at the Harris County Courthouse. The details in this report come from an original complaint filed by a plaintiff. Please note, a complaint represents an accusation by a private individual, not the government. It is not an indication of guilt, and it only represents one side of the story.
