Lake Houston 10K, 5K runs set for August

Registration is open for the third annual Lake Houston 10K and 5K runs to be held Saturday, Aug. 25.

The participation cost is $25 for the 10K run and $20 for the 5K. The registration deadline is Thursday, Aug. 16 and $5 will be added to the event cost for registrations completed after the deadline. No more registrations will be accepted after 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22.

All participants will receive a Lake Houston Race T-shirt and swag bag. The top male and female racers will receive prizes, including a 10K first-place award of $500 and a 5K first place award of $250.

The race will start at 7 a.m. at Kings Harbor, 4501 Magnolia Cove Drive, in Kingwood. Early packet pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24 at Kings Harbor. Disposable ChronoTrack - D chips will be fastened to racers to monitor times. Race results and times will be posted online at runhoustontiming.com.
