Humble Wal-Mart named in slip-and-fall suit
A Harris County woman is suing over claims Wal-Mart failed to provide her with a safe shopping experience at its Humble location.
Leverna Steen filed a lawsuit on July 27 in the Harris County District Court against Wal-Mart Real Estate Business Trust, Wal-Mart Stores Texas and Wal-Mart Stores, citing negligence.
Steen says on May 28, 2011, she sustained serious injuries when she slipped and fell while shopping at Wal-Mart, located at 9451 FM 1960 Bypass in Humble. The accident occurred because Wal-Mart employees failed to clean up water left on the floor, according to the brief.
Steen is seeking damages and court costs. She is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Paul Cannon.
