The event will be a sunset excursion from 5:30-8 p.m. on Spring Creek and is free for all members. The creek flows past one of Bayou Land Conservancy’s preserves.
Canoes, kayaks and paddles are available for the first 20 participants. The put-in point is at the Jones Nature Center, 20634 Kenswick Drive, Humble. The take-out location is at the I-59 bridge.
Registration can be completed by calling 281-576-1634 or emailing info@bayouland.org.
According to the conservancy’s website, Spring Creek Greenway is the largest connected urban greenway in the nation, stretching over 33 miles. The conservancy partners with Montgomery County Precinct 3, Harris County Precinct 4 and the Woodlands Development Company for the greenway’s upkeep.
