Smalling recognized as specialist in sports physical therapy

Matt Smalling, president and owner of the Sports Institute of Physical Therapy, received board certification as a specialist in the field of sports physical therapy.

According to a press release, Smalling is the only sports clinical specialist in the Humble and Kingwood areas and is one of 10 specialists with this designation in the greater-Houston area. To obtain certification, a candidate must submit evidence of clinical practice in the specialty area and complete a written examination, demonstrating specialized knowledge and advanced clinical proficiency.

Smalling is also a member of the American Society of Shoulder and Elbow Therapists and is a certified pitching instructor through the National Pitching Association.

The Sports Institute of Physical Therapy is located at 7155 Atascocita Road, Humble.
