Lakewood Yacht Club to host annual J/Fest Southwest Regatta

The third annual J/Fest Southwest Regatta will take place Oct. 13 and Oct. 14 at the Lakewood Yacht Club.

This event will give J/Boat racers from around the country the opportunity to compete in one-design races.

The venue will be all inclusive to J/Boat owners and their families and friends. During the races, boaters’ spouses, children and friends will be able to enjoy activities and attractions around the Bay Area Houston arena.

Viewers will be able to track the races live on a large screen in the club house.

Goodie bags will be provided with coupons for family activities.

"Since Seabrook is the title sponsor for our regatta, we hope that visiting racers will book their accommodations at our fine Seabrook motels," said LYC Fleet Capt. Joyce Maxwell in the press release.

The preregatta skippers' meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 12 in the ballroom of Lakewood Yacht Club. Refreshments will be served.

There will also be a pool party and dinner after the races Oct. 13 and an awards ceremony after the races Oct. 14.
