Kingwood Medical Center reaches 500 open-heart surgeries

Interventional cardiologist Dr. Rick Ganim recently performed Kingwood Medical Center's 500th open-heart surgery with the help of ICU staff.

The surgery was performed on Trinidad P. Avalos, a 79-year-old resident of Harris County who was rushed to the center after suffering a heart event.

Kingwood Medical Center is located at 22999 Highway 59 North, in Kingwood.
