Runners from Humble complete Kona Marathon
Two runners from Humble completed the Kona Marathon on Sunday, June 24, in Kona, Hawaii.
Steve Boone completed the race in 5:30:04, and Paula Boone crossed the finish line in 7:27:02.
A total of 384 runners finished the 26.2-mile race, which started and ended at the Outrigger Keauhou Beach Resort. The course is a Boston qualifier, and is USATF-certified.
Justin Gillette of Berne, Indiana was the men’s overall winner with a time of 2:37:14, while Aki Mizunuma of Japan was the women’s winner in 3:18:15.
