Memorial Hermann offers programs for cancer survivors, families
Three programs for cancer survivors and their families have been scheduled by Memorial Hermann Cancer Center-Northeast, located on the campus of Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital.
The Breast Cancer Support Group will meet at the Cancer Center from 6:30-8 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month and will include programs by plastic surgeon Dr. Philip Straka, yoga instructor Sandy Brady and reflexologist Patricia McPherson. Yoga for Cancer Survivors will meet at 9:30 a.m. every Thursday in the Wellness Center. Classes are taught by Sandy Brady and are offered free of charge to patients currently going through treatment and recovery. For more information or to register, call 281-540-7905.
Volunteers are needed for CanCare, a nonprofit organization offering emotional support to cancer patients and their families. An informational meeting will be held for interested volunteers at 6:30 May 16 at the Cancer Center. For more information, call 713-461-0028.
