Sheriff's Academy hosts student law enforcement competition
The Harris Country Sheriff's Office Academy will host the Skills USA regional competition for its first time ever at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17.
About 100 students from Pasadena, Klein and Spring Independent School Districts will compete in law enforcement scenarios. The competition is in preparation for the 2012 SkillsUSA Texas Leadership and Skills Conference in Corpus Christi this March.
SkillsUSA Texas is a non-profit youth organization that helps students develop essential skills such as communication and teamwork in various trades and industries, according to a news release.
The academy is located at 2316 Atascocita Road in Humble.
