February events at the Atascocita Branch Library
The Atascocita Branch Library will host the following events in February:
A special Black History Month event will be from 4-5 p.m. on Feb. 28. Children will hear African stories and folktales and make African masks.
Club Anime will hold a birthday marathon for its sixth anniversary from 6-7:45 p.m. on Feb. 7. Sushi and pocky will be available.
A Black History Month celebration for teens will be from 4:30-5:45 p.m. on Feb. 15. The event will discuss Adinkra cloth and its significance. Teens will have the chance to make a scarf as well.
The Chess and Go Club will meet at 7 p.m. on Feb. 23.
Knit Wits: Ten Knitting Club will hold its next meeting at 6 p.m. on Feb. 28. The club welcomes knitters of all skill levels.
Friday Afternoon Computer Classes will be held from 3-4 p.m. every Friday. The first Friday of the month includes a basics course. The rest of the month covers topics such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Classes require registration, which can be done by calling 281-812-2162.
The Lunch 'n Lit Book Club will meet at 1 p.m. on Feb. 9. The group will be discussing At Home by Bill Bryson.
Craft Club will meet at 7 p.m. on Feb. 21. The adult program will focus on decorating wood frames. Supplies are limited but will be provided. Register by calling 281-812-2162.
The Knit and Knosh Society will meet at 7 p.m. on Feb. 28. The knitting group is open to all levels.
