Lake Houston introduces kids fishing tournament
The Lake Houston Sports and Recreation Foundation will host its first Take a Kid Fishing tournament on March 24.
The event will take place at various locations around Lake Houston. At each fishing spot, volunteers will be available to assist. Winners will be announced in Deussen Park after the weigh-in.
The event includes two divisions, the BASS and kids division. The BASS division will have a dinner the night before the tournament from 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The kids division will be from 8 a.m. to noon.
Fishing is done in teams with a $100 fee per boat. Each team will be allowed no more than five fish for the weigh-in.
