Get ready for the Mud Maxx 5K race
Mud Maxx is getting ready for its second successful year. The race date is Saturday, June 19. Start time is 9 a.m. It is not too early to sign up.
The race is a non-competitive 5K run through mud holes, through the woods, up and down sand hills, and it is guaranteed to make runners muddy.
The course is at least three hard miles," said Steve Boone, professional marathon runner and designer or the Mud Maxx course. People who run races love, every now and then, to do something bizarre and out of the ordinary just for the fun of it, and this race is nothing but fun."
The only complaint the race committee heard last year was that there was not enough mud. This year the course designers are doing their best to accommodate that request.
The last hole will need to be crawled through; that should be fun to watch," said Boone.
Mud Maxx is run on the old motocross track off Townsen Boulevard between FM the 1969 Bypass and U.S. 59. To sign up for the race, go to www.mudmaxx.com.
Mud Maxx is run in support of the Shriner's Hospitals for Children.
