The Humble Independent School District will hold a job fair Aug. 12 for tutors interesting in assisting its AVID program, an effort aimed at helping students reach their full academic potential.

Pals for Pooches has been around for more than 10 years, and their efforts to rescue and foster dogs until they can be adopted has brought hundreds of dogs into happy homes.
