A dog trainer from Humble will give two free training sessions to anyone who adopts an animal from the Humane Animal Rescue Program.

If you have a pet that you love, or are looking for a pet to love, the second Adopt-A-Thon event March 27 at Humble Civic Arena should be on your calendar. In addition to the 20-plus animal rescue organizations that will be on hand with cats and dogs, visitors can bring their animals to have a microchip inserted that will make locating them easier should they get lost or wander. The city of Houston is providing the chips, as well as the venue for the event. The micro chip service costs $10, and owners will fill out a form with identification information.

There’s a slumber party vibe in the Hoopnotica class that Sheri Morris teaches at Ekam Yoga in Atascocita. Eight women – college age to middle age to retired – are in various stages of keeping a hula hoop in motion, and giggling good naturedly about themselves, and at each other’s efforts is part of the fun.
