    Kingwood soars past Humble in boys basketball

    In what might be the last district basketball game between Kingwood and Humble for while, the Mustangs' raced to a 46-25 win over Humble on Friday night. Humble is expected to drop to Class 4A when realignment is announced Monday.

    Kicker Pablo Beltran booted a game-tying field goal with no time left, then Jarvis Neal scored on a 25-yard run in overtime as the Atascocita Eagles outlasted Chavez, 43-37, in a playoff thriller Thursday night at Galena Park ISD stadium. Above, Atascocita's Kent Brooks scores in the second quarter.

    Atascocita running back Kent Brooks is wrapped by Eisenhower defenders Cqulin Hubert and James McQueen during Atascocita's win Friday night. Atascocita improved to 7-1 overall and 3-1 in district.
