The much-anticipated arrival of the H1N1 vaccine is here.
Humble ISD students, employees and their families are being offered the vaccine free of charge. The vaccines will be administered on Saturday, Nov. 21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Atascocita, Humble and Summer Creek high schools.
All vaccinations will be made by injection and will be first-come, first-serve, as vaccination supplies are limited.
The clinics are a joint effort between Humble ISD and the Harris County Public Health and Environmental Services. These entities are advising that school nurses, women who are pregnant, those with compromised auto-immune system issues such as diabetes, and those who are in contact with young children get the vaccine.
Additional campuses are expected to host vaccine clinics in the future, but those dates and times are yet unknown.
To qualify for this round of vaccination, walk-ins must be a student, employee or family member of a student of employee of Humble ISD.
Atascocita High School is located at 13300 Will Clayton Pkwy. Humble High School is located at 1700 Wilson Rd. Summer Creek High School is located at 14000 Weckford Blvd.
