Money freed up for patrols in Summerwood

Kingwood Police Patrol, a substation of the Houston Police Department, has been granted an additional $289,000 for their overtime program. The funds take the small substation of 75 officers and stretches their manpower.

Since no new full time positions have been approved, the overtime allotment allows each officer to work longer hours. The extra time is a substitution for more officers.

Working overtime, the police officers can finish their regular duties around Kingwood, and go on to patrol another area when the next shift relieves them.

The main goal of this measure was to allow officers to sufficiently patrol the Summerwood subdivision.
