Here's the what, when and where from the Atascocita Yacht Club about its 8th annual holiday parade:
What: The Atascocita Yacht Club is sponsoring the 8th annual holiday boat parade on Saturday December 12.
The holiday boat parade is an opportunity to join with fellow mariners for an evening of fun and spirit on the waters of Lake Houston. Boats can be decorated with your choice of holiday themes if desired. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 entries.
Who: Prticipation is open to all boats. Membership in the yacht club is not required but is available for $5.00 per year. Previous participants have included everything from kayaks to barges.
Where: The parade will begin at Texas Adaptive Aquatics, just south of Cedar Landing on the east side of the 1960 bridge. Registration begins at 4:30 PM and the parade will begin promptly at 5:30. The parade will cruise along the shore for about 1 - 2 hours. After the parade, participants are invited to the awards presentation and dinner at El Senor Fish.
About: The Atascocita Yacht Club is an informal group was organized in 2002 and has sponsored parades every year since. Although primarily a social organization, the club has initiated occasional Lake Houston related community service activities. Membership is not limited to residents of Atascocita. All persons who enjoy Lake Houston are encouraged to join.
